Sept 18th Meeting

Sept 18th:

Baseball netting poles:

Everyone agrees the new poles around the baseball field are undesirable and no one has any recollection of any prior warning recieved from USF. All in attendence expressed support for John's efforts to investigate the situation and would be happy to add our names and the name of the association to any correspondence with USF.

Dorm noise:

We all agreed dorm noise is a problem, either from summer boarders or regular students. As far as we know the only recourse is to call USF security. We decided to begin documenting any calls we make in order to develop some metrics to guage the extent of the situation.

Dark trees on corner:

No one has contact information for owner of apartment builder on the corner. If anyone sees a person who looks like the owner we should politley contact him and ask him to maintain the area.

Block party:

We decided an "official" block party is not needed right now.

Fiscal year:

It was raised that the fiscal year ends in August so dues are now due from all. We agreed that we don't need a bid budget so we lowered the dues to $10.

Halloween parade:

We agreed to bring the kids out at about 5:30 on Halloween. No real organized plan for trick or treating was devised.

Progressive Party:

The idea of having a street wide Progressive Party was raised and was found popular. The plan is to have a progressive party on Dec 1st. Lael was made a member of the party committee.

Election Booth:

Lael did some good research and found out that the reason we all have to vote absentee is that our voting district is comprised of the three terrace streets and we don't have 250 registered voters. The registrar he spoke with said that if we could locate a location to host a polling booth they would set up a local polling station. Everyone seemed interested in this but no volunteers were found to host the location. Katherine thought she had voted at polling place on Hemway so she as going to look into that to confirm.

Judy got a hold of some earthquake preparedeness supplies from Ready America (800-959-4053) that she thought people might find worthwhile.

The next meeting was scheduled from Nov 13 at the Hennessey's (29? Loyola)
